I have had so many people say that they are looking forward to 2017 – or more precisely – they are looking to be done with 2016.
Do you feel that way? Was 2016 a bad year for you?
It’s certainly ending in a bad way, what with all of the celebrity deaths in the last week or so.
2016 wasn’t awful for me, but most of it revolved around my daughter and her wedding in late August. She got married on the date of my late mom’s birthday, which was also coincidently the 1 year anniversary of my dad’s passing. It was a bittersweet day.
One thing I noticed about 2016 was the fact that I neglected my self care terribly. I’ve deemed 2017 to be the year of ME – making sure that I take time for myself as well as others.
Maybe because the New Year is fast approaching, I spent today doing some clearing out – wishing to start the New Year with a clean slate, I suppose.
I put away some Christmas decorations and marked some for giving away.
I finally hung up my laundry – some of it had been downstairs in the laundry basket for so long that I was hanging up shorts and tank tops. I also threw out or marked for giving away anything that didn’t fit or make me feel good.
I’m feeling lighter already.
I’ve also got a few new tools that I want to try out for making 2017 a more productive and all around awesome year. One is a unique planner called Passion Planner that a friend got me for Christmas, and the other is something called Power Sheets that help you set goals and achieve them in a unique way. More about those later after I’ve had a chance to play with them.
